February 8, 2007 –QoLcom have been selected by Reading FC to provide secure WLAN access for the Madejski Football Stadium complex and Training ground. Reading FC chose wireless system Integrator QoLcom over its direct competitors due to demonstrating their specialist knowledge and experience in deploying secure Wireless LAN solutions. QoLcom are providing Reading FC with a 24-hours-a-day secure WLAN network fully accessible with support for laptops, PDAs and Reading FC’s Voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN) plans for the future.

Madejski Stadium is based in Reading just off Junction 11 of the M4 and has a 24,400 all seating capacity along with the high-class Royal Berkshire Conference Centre and the Millennium Madejski Hotel, as well as a £1m Indoor Training Centre.

Trapeze Networks was selected for its powerful management capabilities found in the RingMaster management software. Reading FC’s central management station is located in the Madejski Stadium and relies on RingMaster to provide centralized management of its WLAN. Reading FC purchased the MX-200 mobility exchange switch range to deliver reliable Wi-Fi service for large numbers of users and support for 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g, as well as MP-372 54 Mbps wireless mobility points (MPs) to provide wireless LAN access at multiple locations.
