AirDefense Opens European Headquarters
Announces Immediate Expansion with Global Partnerships;
Hires New Director to Run European Operations
London - June 22, 2004 - AirDefense, the leader in 24x7
wireless security monitoring today announced that it has opened
its European headquarters in London to meet the growing demand
for its products and services overseas. AirDefense also announced
Anthony Perridge has joined the company as director of its European,
Middle East, Africa (EMEA) operations and named Pentura and Equip
as the company's first European Premiere Partners.
"The overall success of our business and the demand for
our products overseas makes this the perfect time to open our
EMEA office," said Anil Khatod, president and CEO of AirDefense.
"Wireless is becoming ubiquitous in this region of the world
at an equal or faster rate than North America and we want to ensure
those wireless networks are secure."
The United Kingdom alone has experienced a 34 percent increase
in wireless use over the last two years, according to PriceWaterhouseCoopers
(PWC) Information Security Breeches survey. The survey further
states these businesses tend to rely on firewalls to defend their
Internet gateway. However, this method of security is not comprehensive
enough for attackers bypassing the firewall and using other weaknesses
in the network as a point of entry. To this extent analyst firms
such as Gartner are recommending companies install a separate
set of wireless intrusion detection sensors.
To run this new office, Anthony Perridge joins AirDefense with
more than 15 years of experience in the IT industry, formerly
at NIKSUN and Network Associates. As the new director of AirDefense
EMEA, Perridge is tasked with building the company's business
overseas. Using his track record of success in sales, sales management
and selling services Perridge introduced the partners' plan for
most recent employer NIKSUN noting repeated quarter over quarter
growth.
"Anthony's strong security background and years at Network
Associates and NIKSUN make him a perfect fit to lead our overseas
efforts," added Khatod. "He understands the European
market and has a track record of building sustainable business
through the channel."
Pentura (http://www.pentura.co.uk) and Equip (http://www.equiptechnology.com)
have been chosen as the first partners to sell the AirDefense
product line in Europe to enhance the security and reliability
of wireless networks.
AirDefense products being offered by Pentura and Equip include
AirDefense 4.0 and AirDefense BlueWatch. AirDefense 4.0 provides
24x7 real-time monitoring of a wireless LAN with analysis of who
is connected to the network and the status of each station and
access point. AirDefense BlueWatch enables organizations to identify
rogue and insecure Bluetooth devices in their air space as well
as indicates how the devices connect and the types of services
available on the devices.
About the Premiere Partners
Pentura is known throughout the industry for their expertise in
security and wireless. Pentura has been introducing AirDefense
into the European market for more than twelve months. The success
of the relationship was in part justification for AirDefense's
expansion into EMEA. In addition, Pentura has made great strides
with AirDefense in the financial services sector.
Equip is AirDefense's first distributor focused solely on the
United Kingdom. Equip has a solid reputation for bringing leading
edge technologies to market. Equip's successful track record includes
bringing to marketing NetScreen, the SSL VPN market leader. Unique
to Equip's services, they will offer purchasers of the AirDefense
system 24x7 customer support through its own call center, a unique
offering for the British community.
