AirDefense To Present at Upcoming
Financial Services Sector Executive Summit

Atlanta - October 27, 2004 - AirDefense, the leader in 24x7 wireless LAN security and monitoring, today announced that Greg Thomas, the company's director of support, will moderate two panels and participate with other leading technology and financial services experts on a third panel at the CyberSecurity in the Financial Services Sector Executive Summit, October 27 and 28 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York. AirDefense is the "Network Security" summit sponsor and will be monitoring the wireless environment for network abuses and problematic stations and access points.

Greg Thomas will moderate a session on "Bluetooth risks" and a second session on "Mobile Devices and Wireless LANs: worms, viruses and system intrusions." These sessions will look at mobile wireless applications in terms of the risks they introduce to the enterprise because of the shared medium with which wireless and Bluetooth devices operate. The sessions will feature discussion of the current generation of wireless attack tools that can damage, destroy and infiltrate most wireless networks and what enterprises can do to secure their networks including encryption, authentication and intrusion detection techniques.

Thomas will also participate on a panel with JP Morgan and the Treasury Bank of Canada discussing the best practices of building a comprehensive, enterprise-wide cybersecurity management framework. Thomas will share the risks financial service institutions face when employees introduce wireless access points into the enterprise and what these organizations can do to protect against those risks.
Greg Thomas is a recognized subject matter expert in 802.11 and IPSec and has worked for industry leaders VeriSign, Sun Microsystems and IQ Software.
The CyberSecurity Summit brings together more than 450 delegates from the financial services industry to discuss emerging issues including spyware, phishing, spam and wireless.
