AirDefense Congratulates Lockheed Martin on
2005 Network World Enterprise All-Star Award
ATLANTA, December 13, 2005 – AirDefense,
the innovator that launched the wireless LAN security market, congratulates
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company on being named a 2005 Network
World Enterprise All-Star. Lockheed Martin was credited with deploying
its wireless LAN across 150 buildings, spread over three states with
hundreds of contractors and 30,000 employees. Lockheed uses AirDefense
Enterprise as the security backbone that enables the company to monitor
its airwaves 24/7.
The Network World Enterprise All-Star Awards recognize exceptional
use of network technology to further business objectives of organizations
across a range of industry segments, including education, financial services
and healthcare. For the 2005 award, 50 enterprise IT organizations representing
the best, most innovative applications of network technology were selected.
Lockheed Martin began working with AirDefense
after security officers realized they needed to eliminate unauthorized
wireless networks from the company’s air domain yet keep legitimate access points compliant
with the company’s wireless security policies. With many employees
and contractors touting wireless-enabled laptops, Lockheed Martin knew
it also was imperative to centralize access point management for real-time
alerts on security breaches and policy violations.
“Lockheed Martin is a perfect example of an enterprise that is
taking full advantage of wireless technologies to more efficiently manage
mission-critical business,” according to Anil Khatod, president
and CEO of AirDefense.
