Mobile Wireless Scanning & Security
AirDefense Mobile™ is a complementary solution to the AirDefense Enterprise monitoring platform, giving enterprises an AirDefense-powered mobile product to perform a real-time snapshot of all WLAN infrastructure and activity (802.11 a/b/g). This must-have tool provides wireless device inventory, threat index analysis, location tracking, advanced rogue management and automated protection.
Running on a Windows XP or 2000 platform, AirDefense Mobile installs on any laptop with an Atheros-based 802.11 a/b/g wireless card, such as Netgear (WAG511) or Cisco (CB21AG).
With over 175 alarms, AirDefense Mobile provides the most advanced mobile security tool in the market today. A flexible notification engine ensures that critical alerts are communicated in a timely manner. Companies use AirDefense Mobile to locate rogue access points and stations, identify mis-configured devices and to take proactive steps to close any security holes as part of a WLAN policy compliance program. AirDefense Mobile also provides diagnostic tools and signal interference measurements for network troubleshooting thereby ensuring the health of the wireless LAN.

AIRDEFENSE ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION
AirDefense Mobile has a simple intuitive user interface and along with AirDefense Enterprise, provides a comprehensive view of the wireless network security and health. AirDefense Mobile is fully integrated into AirDefense Enterprise, enabling synchronization of authorized and rogue wireless devices for  a specified location. All information pertaining to the rogue devices including their most current alarms can be imported for quick problem resolution. The threat index of rogue devices is built from alarms seen on the Enterprise server. Devices can be tracked more easily and accurately using advanced triangulation algorithms. Hence, AirDefense Mobile is an essential security and network management tool that gives IT professionals a holistic view into their wireless network and provides everything they need to quickly resolve any network issues or mitigate threats.

The AirDefense Mobile Hardware Kit is intended to be used in conjunction with AirDefense Mobile, a laptop-based software solution that provides a real-time snapshot of all WLAN infrastructure and activity. The hardware kit includes an 802.11a/b/g wireless cardbus with external antenna capability (note: laptop and AirDefense Mobile are not included in this kit). The antenna is a laptop-mount omni-directional dual-band antenna for 802.11b/g at 2.4GHz and 802.11a at 5GHz. Two compact high-gain directional patch antennas (one for 802.11b/g at 2.4GHz and one for 802.11a at 5GHz) can be optionally added to the hardware kit. The solution has been tested and approved for use with AirDefense MobileTM and provides increased sensitivity for wireless device inventory, threat analysis, location tracking, and rogue management, when used with AirDefense MobileTM WLAN analyzer. |
