AirDefense Mobile simplifies design and implementation of wireless LANs and allows you to conduct quick and accurate scans to ensure the health of your wireless LAN. The WLAN Analysis tools give you visibility into the 802.11 protocol and higher level graphical analysis of devices and traffic patterns. AirDefense Mobile, a laptop-based wireless diagnostic tool, is comprised of two distinct modules - the SiteSurvey module and the WLAN Analyzer module. The two modules that make up the comprehensive tool are designed to be used together, but can also be leveraged separately when needed.

SITESURVEY MODULE
The SiteSurvey module gives you an easy-to-use tool for designing WLANs and verifying network  coverage. With SiteSurvey's map-based interface, you can quickly collect data and detect weak spots or overlaps in your network.  The allows you to determine and verify network coverage, noise, and AP channel assignments, and visualize the impact of neighboring networks in local environments.

The statistics are then feed to a sophisticated RF propagation engine to provide you with a mapped layout of signal coverage.  Use this feature to analyze metrics that affect the performance of specific wireless applications such as VoIP or video streaming. The SiteSurvey module allows you to better deploy your network or troubleshoot an existing network easily and effectively.

WLAN ANALYZER MODULE
The WLAN Analyzer module provides analysis tools that give you visibility into the 802.11 protocol and higher level graphical analysis of devices and traffic patterns. You can proactively identify and close security holes to ensure regulatory compliance, analyze traffic in real time and review usage and performance patterns. The WLAN Analyzer also provides you a simplified way to locate and inventory your wireless devices.

Analyze network data in real-time using the built in LiveView feature. With Live View you can drill down into a live, streaming view of devices, BSSIDs, and channels to review frame captures, authentication errors, AP configuration issues & network interference. With the built in connection diagrams you can see visualizations of Layer (2) 802.11 connectivity. The WLAN Analyzer also provides you a simplified way to locate and inventory your wireless devices.

You can also identify interference sources and view network impact with a built in spectrum analyzer. Now identify and classify sources of interference such as microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, wireless security cameras, and more with a simply scan of the network and actually view the impact they may have on the network. Performance issues can be proactively addressed before critical wireless applications are affected

INTEGRATED MONITORING WITH THE AIRDEFENSE SERVICES PLATFORM
AirDefense Mobile is a complementary solution to the AirDefense Services Platform. Cross-integration allows synchronization of a number of configuration settings such as identifying trusted and/or neighboring Wi-Fi devices to expedite site surveys and troubleshooting. It has an intuitive user interface which allowing you to quickly diagnose network issues and proactively close security holes as part of a comprehensive wlan compliance policy. Used along with AirDefense Services Platform, AirDefense Mobile provides a comprehensive view of the wireless network activity.
