Take the Guesswork Out of Wireless LAN Design & Management
AirDefense Architect™ provides complete design and simulation of wireless LANs based on building-specific environments. AirDefense Architect helps to accurately and predictively design Wi-Fi networks (802.11) before the actual deployment of access points, sensors and other wireless devices.
FUNCTIONALITY
Site-specific 3D Modeling:
With AirDefense Architect, designers can accurately design wireless LANs by converting drawing files or floor plans into multi-story building databases and specifying RF characteristics of walls and other obstructions from our extensive RF attenuation database. AirDefense Architect also stores vital asset location and configuration information in a flexible 2D or 3D model for simplified management and future network upgrades.
Building information can be directly imported into AirDefense Architect from any of the following formats: AutoCAD drawing, scanned image, photo or PDF, and a free-hand or electronic sketch.
Design and Simulation:
AirDefense Architect enhances WLAN design by simulating the expected performance of the network and graphically displaying these results in a site-specific 2D or 3D model. Vital information such as RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator), SIR (Signal to Interference Ratio), SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), predicted throughput and bit-error rate can be viewed.
Other features include:
- Automated equipment placement and configuration
- Instant visualization of the location and configuration of installed network equipment
- Automated generation of maintenance records

AirDefense Architect is part of the AirDefense InSite Suite, a collection of powerful tools available today for network architects to design, install, maintain and troubleshoot wireless networks. Other tools included in the suite are:
performs wireless network scans, device inventory, location tracking, and advanced rogue management
provides in-the-field measurements of Wi-Fi RF environments for site-specific surveys. |
|
Network Measurement and Optimization: AirDefense Architect instantly verifies and records real-time network performance statistics directly from WLAN devices. These measurement statistics are displayed in a site-specific manner to optimize wireless system predictions. AirDefense Architect automatically learns the history of past measurements to create optimized propagation models for accurate “blind” designs in similar future environments
BENEFITS
Rapidly Design and Deploy More Efficient Networks
AirDefense Architect helps design quality wireless networks by helping to overcome the challenges of coverage holes, poor service areas and improper capacity and network resource allocation.
Avoid Costly Retrofits
AirDefense Architect minimizes design and deployment costs by helping the designer visualize the physical location and configuration of installed network equipment, automatically placing and configuring access points, and accurately predicting network coverage and capacity.
Simplify Complex Wireless Environments
Designers can quickly compare site-survey measurements to the expected network performance, enabling real-time and accurate design modifications. AirDefense Architect is intuitive and helps users rapidly operate and design in all phases of WLAN build-out and management.
AirDefense Survey Capability Included
Also included is AirDefense Survey capability, which provides in-field measurements for site surveys. Seamlessly integrated into AirDefense Architect, measurements from AirDefense Survey can be used to optimize and compare its predictions. |
