SMART SENSOR

The Motorola AirDefense smart sensors passively observe all wireless LAN traffic within 40,000 to 60,000 square feet of typical office space. The smart sensor analyzes the 802.11 frames and extracts meaningful data points to determine key attributes, such as total data transferred, direction of traffic etc. By preprocessing wireless LAN traffic, the smart sensors greatly reduce the need for bandwidth.
