The Department of Defense issued a wireless directive, Number 8100.2
on April 14, 2004. This directive establishes policy and assigns
responsibilities for the use of commercial wireless devices, services,
and technologies in the DoD Global Information Grid. It directs
the development and use of a Knowledge Management process to promote
the sharing of wireless technology capabilities, vulnerabilities,
and vulnerability mitigation strategies throughout the Department
of Defense.
This 90-minute webcast is hosted
by AirDefense and Fortress Technologies for agencies to which this
wireless directive is applicable including the Office of Sect. of
Defense, Military Departments, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
The Combatant command, The Office of Inspector General of the Dept
of Defense, The Defense Agencies, The DoD field activities and all
other DoD organizations including DoD contractors.
